Why Sleep Strength
Who I Am
I’m Jason Jenkins — a strength and conditioning coach with 10+ years of experience helping athletes train harder and recover smarter. I’m an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a Precision Nutrition Level 2 coach, and my background spans high-performance training environments from Golf & Body NYC to my current role as Fitness Director at Fox Den Country Club in Tennessee.
Sleep Strength is where I teach the other half of performance: sleep. Not sleep hygiene platitudes — protocols. The same way a good program periodizes training, the way you sleep can be structured, measured, and improved until recovery stops being the thing that limits your progress.
Mission
Most people who train seriously don’t have a training problem. They have a recovery problem. They’ll spend hundreds on supplements and gear while sleeping six broken hours a night. Sleep is the most powerful legal performance enhancer that exists — it drives muscle protein synthesis, reaction time, decision-making, and injury resilience — and it’s the one most athletes leave completely unmanaged. Sleep Strength exists to fix that.
What Sleep Strength Teaches
Everything here is built on three pillars. The Sleep Protocol covers the routines and environment that make deep, consistent sleep repeatable — starting with the Athlete’s Night Routine. The Sleep Stack looks honestly at supplements and tools, what the evidence supports and what it doesn’t. The Science of Recovery Sleep translates the research on sleep and athletic performance into decisions you can actually use, and the Gear & Tech coverage tests the trackers and devices that claim to measure it all.
Who It’s For
Lifters, competitive athletes, golfers, and coaches who treat sleep as part of training — because it is. If you track your workouts but not your recovery, this site is your missing half of the program.
A Note on Boundaries
Sleep Strength is about performance and lifestyle: routines, habits, environment, and training-aligned choices. It does not diagnose or treat sleep disorders or any medical condition. If you suspect a medical sleep issue, that’s a conversation for a physician — and I’ll be the first to tell you so.
